Retro Promo Posters

This poster series for KLSC blends 90s newspaper aesthetics, retro Hong Kong street visuals, and bold contemporary typography to evoke a gritty sense of local identity and cultural nostalgia. The designs feature exaggerated Chinese characters, clashing color palettes, and faux-print textures to deliver a visual punch. Whether showcasing tea cocktails or collab beer sets, each poster goes deliberately over the top — loud, brash, and unapologetically emotional. It’s not just product promotion, but a continuation of the KWC ethos: raw, unfiltered, and full of attitude.
The art direction purposefully collides nostalgia with kitsch — from jarring red-yellow combos and gritty halftone textures, to typographic mimicry of old newspaper headlines. Rooted in the street paper culture and print ads of 1990s Hong Kong, the posters reimagine retro tropes through digital distortion. The result is a contemporary visual dialect that feels both avant-garde and comfortingly familiar.
